Zoe took a step out onto the grounds. She took a moment to stop and take a small breath. Fresh air. It was a wonderful thing. Being confided inside was something that Zoe hated. If it were possible every minute would be spent outdoor. Taking a moment to look around the grounds
Zoe covered her eyes, the sunlight was very bright. Not seeing anyone she knew, which was actually a very short list anyway. She decided that she would go down to the waterfall and do a little drawing. She walked quickly but calmly to her favorite hiding place. Hiding behind the waterfall was always so peaceful. Zoe didn't encounter a lot of people down there so it was a perfect place to draw. Not a lot of distractions. She quickly crossed over till she was behind the waterfall. As usual no one was there. She took another deep breath looking around.
Walking toward a patch of grass with a fallen log, Zoe laid out a small blanket she had brought with her. Finally after getting everything in order she sat down. Taking out her draw book with her pens. Zoe had no idea what she would draw but maybe it would be something really nice. Sunlight could be seen glistening off the water as if fell. This drew Zoe's attention from her drawing. She seemed to become mesmerized by it. In the distance birds could be heard chirping. It was very peaceful. Zoe must have zoned out because suddenly she heard a noise. She turned in the direction of the sound. Trying to find its maker.

Jacob had felt like exploring the grounds some. He hadn't been everywhere yet, amazingly. School had him so busy sometimes he couldn't get out of his dorm with the piles of homework or research. Thankfully it a summer and he had all the time in the world now and decided to go to hidden waterfall he had heard about. It appeared to be just a rumor and of course that caught his attention. He ran down to where it was said to be and could smell fresh water, it send chills down his spine. His wild instincts were clawing against his skin, he wanted to change and smell things like a wolf. He ran closer to the smell of water and stopped at the edge of the water and filled his lungs as his body morphed into a brown wolf. He went to the edge and drank from the stream. It was surprisingly refreshing.
He walked along the edge and found a path behind the waterfall and walked behind it and found a small cave, nothing big, but just enough for an animal, or a human if they were crawling. He walked in and turned around watching the water fall. The different colors of water was amazing, but he would never go in it. He stayed there for a few minutes and decided it was time to look around more and walked back out and shook his fur from the water the at had splashed on him.
He poked his head out from the water and noticed a girl was sitting on the other side and his ears perked up. Girl? Always good. He hit a rock as he stepped out a little more, and stood still as she seemed to notice him now.

Zoe sat looking around. Suddenly she was very nervous. Had it really been a good idea to come out here alone. Maybe not. The sound she heard earlier was gone now. Did that mean whatever made it was also gone? Maybe or maybe not. Slowly she raised up on her knees. Trying to find the sound. But it was quiet again.
Since she never saw whoever made the sound, Zoe sat back down. She let out a breath she didn't know that she had even been holding. "See, Zoe, Calm down. It wasn't even anything." Zoe said to herself but out loud. Good thing there wasn't anyone around. They would sure think she was a little crazy. Anyone that talked to them self like that.
Zoe sat back down making herself comfortable again. Pulling her draw book back onto her lap. She decided to go ahead and start to draw something. Still not sure what it would be. Zoe started to get this feeling that she wasn't alone. Looking back toward the direction of the sound. Something flashed by. Only a small flash of something that wasn't a part of the scenery. "Hello. Is anyone out there?" Zoe decided to call.
She stood walking toward the place the flash had been. As Zoe grew closer the flash came into view. Was that really what Zoe thought it was. Looking closer, it was. A wolf. Fear started to fill her. She was alone and within a couple feet was a wolf. But there was something different about this one. Something made her want to get closer. She turned her head to one side looking at him.

He saw the fear run through the girl's body, who would be afraid of the big bad wolf? He was a big wolf and she was alone, usually not good combination. He walked out of the water and hopped down a rock to the shore and looked back at her, his ears erects and his tail strong. He saw her head move as she looked at him and he mimicked her movements. The only thing dividing them was a stream and he wasn't fond of water. He flung his tail back and forth a few times, staring at her. He could see the fear in her eyes grow, did he look that scary? He never really knew what people thought as they stared at him. Maybe he could find out. He let out a sneeze, to hopefully lighten up her mood, let her head work again too. She could either run or stay, either way he would see what she was thinking.

Zoe stood looking at the wolf. She watched it jump onto a rock. It seemed to be watching every move she made. That made two of them. Fear tried to fill her but she wouldn't allow it. Swallowing her fear back down she took a small step toward the edge of the stream. The wolf was so beautiful. Zoe loved animals and the fact that here was a wolf this close to her made her very happy. Scared, but happy still. Maybe it wouldn't eat her. But there was something about this wolf that gave her the feeling that it wasn't there to try and make her a meal.
While she was watching the wolf on the other bank, it sneezed. She had a huge urge to say, "Bless you." It came out before she had a chance to stop it. This brought a small smile and laugh from Zoe. "Now you are crazy Zoe. Telling a wolf, bless you." She shook her head at her own comment. But she didn't give up spot. Slowly she crept toward the stream.

His ears flicked as she crept forward. So she wasn't too afraid as she seemed to be playing with death. She still had a stream of protection between them, but she didn't know of his fear so she could easily assume he would run right across and rip her flesh off. Maybe she was the type that thought animals were beautiful. This boosted his ego at the thought, he enjoyed female attention as any guy did, but ti was different when they thought you were an animal.
He raised his eye brow when she said 'bless you' to his sneeze. Defiantly a first. He turned so he was facing her and walked to the edge and lowered his ears and sniffed the air. It was common knowledge that wolves were more afraid of humans then humans were of them. But of course some pig headed humans think they were all the devil, and were out for human flesh. Disgusting.

Zoe stood watching the wolf. He was so beautiful. But she still couldn't help but have a small tinge of fear. What would happen? Would it run off? Or would it attack her? Without her realizing what she was doing she was soon very close to the streams edge. Should she remain on her side or cross. What would the wolf do? She watched the wolf walk to the edge on his side. They looked at each other. He seemed to find it funny that she had spoke to it. So, she figured, why not try it again.
"Hi there. What brings you to this place?" Then Zoe stopped and let out a sigh along with a small chuckle. She was talking to the wolf like it was a human. This thing wasn't going to speak to her. But she really wanted to get closer. "Are you going to run if I go to your side?" She thought she would try that. Slowly she crossed the stream till she was standing on the same side as the wolf.

Jacob watched her as she continued to talk to him. This girl was either insane or stupid. Not many people want to come this close to a wild wolf, not unless they were having a death wish or something. He took a step back and shook his head as she crossed over to this side, trying to imitate a wild wolf, it wouldn't be normal for a wolf to willing go up to a human, unless ya know, they were a shapeshifter. She was only a few feet from him now, she could probably reach out and touch his nose. She seemed harmless to him, curious, maybe a little stupid in the sense of walking up to a wild animal, but genuine.
He wondered what she would say if he started talking, how interesting her reaction would be. "I live here." He simply stated, answering her previous question. He waited for her to say something, scream, run. This was always the most exciting part.

Zoe stopped in her tracks. What in the world was she thinking? This was a wild animal that she was treating it as if it were any other animal. She must be completely insane. This wolf could kill her with one simple pouch. But a part of Zoe wanted to get closer, to see what if was really like. She had no idea why, but she just wanted to be closer. But she just couldn't seem to make herself.
Carefully watching the wolf's reaction to her. Slowly the wolf took a step back. Zoe couldn't help herself, it sort of came out. "Oh it's ok. I am not going to hurt you I promise." Now she did feel stupid. She was comforting a wolf. An animal that would kill you if she got any closer. So she stopped so she could continue to watch him. Zoe's love for animals were going to get her killed one of these days.
Just then the strangest thing happened. It spoke. Shocked filled Zoe. She knew what her face must looked like. Taking a few steps back she stumbled over rocks. There was no way she had just heard this animal speak. Zoe was good with animals but not this good. "Ok, so I must really be insane, because I just thought you spoke to me." She continued to stare as she walked backwards and before she knew it she was on her butt on the streams edges. "Just great." She said with anger, she didn't want to be wet. Slowly she let her gaze go back to the animal that she knew just spoke. Finally she just settled for checking to see if her hearing had be right after all, "Did you really just speak?"

Jacob let out a rough laugh, it had an echo to it like a wolf was really laughing. "You are not insane, I just like teasing those ho believe I'm a stupid animal." He laughed again and crouched back, raising his back end up and wagging his tail and leaping forward, changing int mid air into his human form. He pushed her back with his hands as he landed, using on to put behind her head just to make sure she wouldn't hit it on a rock or something. He held himself above her, smirking. "Not so dangerous looking now, am I?" He asked knowing she would either scream or slap him, maybe even laugh if she was laid back enough. He had no intention to harm her, or touch her inappropriately, but she might take it the wrong way, any girl could and would. His golden eyes peered into her's, his short black hair blew in the small breeze, it was one day where he hadn't spiked his hair, figuring he would be in his wolf form anyways.
"Still want to pet me?" Oh he was having so much fun with this.

Zoe remained seated. She couldn't seem to find her legs after the shock she just received. This animal, this wolf spoke. She just couldn't seem to wrap her head around that small little fact. Did she bump her head on something and not remember it? Was she dreaming? This couldn't be real. Just couldn't. Zoe pinched her arms to make sure she was awake. Ouch, yep she was awake.
Then it happened again. It spoke again. Zoe sat staring at this creature. What could it be? Something that looked like an animal but yet spoke like a human. Then it dawned on her. She stiffened could it be. Could he possibly be a werewolf. Shaking her head. Now her fear came back. But before she could react he jumped toward her changing. One moment he was sitting in front of her on hind legs and the next he had knocked her down sitting on top of her.
The sudden change took Zoe by surprise. She never had a chance to even reach. Here she laid with a strange guy on top of her. When she should be either terrified or furious all she could do was laugh. It started as a small laugh but built up. "I have to say, this way you don't look so dangerous." Then he made the comment that sent Zoe over the edge with laughter. She had to do it. It was too easy. Slowly she reached her hand up to his head. Carefully she touched his head. "Yep. I still do. Only problem now is that it's not so fuzzy." This came along with a smile and smirk on Zoe face.

He was happy she laughed, thankfully she was the laid back type, the fun type. He smiled as he saw the fear melt away, who could be afraid of his face? Come on. He enjoyed her laugh, it was calming actually. Most girls either had a laugh that didn't match them, or a very, very annoying one. She had one that was right for her and didn't leave a ringing in his ears afterward. She said he didn't look as dangerous now. "What if a growl?" She asked smirking and motioned with his hand like he had claws. "Rawr." He laughed and felt her hand go to his head, even as a human that felt good. "My leg should be shaking about now." Then she mentioned the softness of his hair. "Hey, my hair is plenty soft." He smirked down at her.
He coughed and rolled off her and onto his back. "So what brings you down here and alone?" He asked turning his head to look at her.

Zoe couldn't help but smile at this guy. She was also very thankful that he didn't seem like he wanted to hurt her. Realizing this, she was able to relax. Something about this guy was interesting. Of course the entire shifting was a part that she should be scared of, but for some reason she couldn't be. Then he asked what if he growl. That brought another smile from her. "Oh, yea. I am terrified." Letting a small shiver to accompy her words. "Help help." She called in a small voice while laughing.
If this guy started shaking his leg, Zoe wouldn't be able to control the laughter. "Please don't start shaking it. At least not here." This comment came with another smile. She watched his face as he told her that his hair was soft. "It might be soft but it's not fuzzy."
As quickly as he pouched, this guy rolled off her. This allowed Zoe to prop herself up on her elbows a little. What brought her down here? Good question. "Well I'm new and hate being stuck indoors. So I thought I would come out for a walk. I found this place and really like coming back here. It's very calm. I always end up going everywhere alone. That is what happens when you don't know anyone."

He laughed at her fake cries for help, he liked her, she was more free and fun then most girls around this school. So stuck up and bleck, not his kinda women. He put his hands behind his head to support it and looked up at her as she rose. He smiled as she said his hair wasn't fuzzy. "Well...I could not brush it for a few days, bet it would be all sorts of fuzzy then." He laughed lightly and just stared at her, what man could take there eyes away from a beautiful woman? Just isn't in his nature not to stare.
"Aye, aye, I hate being indoors too, which is why I'm normally not, though I do sleep in my dorm room, unlike my brother who would rather sleep outside." He shrugged, he didn't want to sleep outside all the time, he'd rather sleep in a comfy bed then hard dirt. He rolled over to his side and supported his head with his hand and smirked up at her. "Well.. now you do."

Zoe laid back down carefully, relaxing. It was such a beautiful day. A wonderful time to spend outdoors. Looking up at the sky. Breathing in the fresh air added to everything, she was at peace. Of course the danger was over now and that allowed her to relax a small bit. That brought Zoe back to the situation at hand. Did she know this guy laying on the ground beside her? The answer to that one was no, but she wanted to know him.
Glancing back at the guy, Zoe let out a small laugh when he said he could not brush it for a few days. "Well that isn't necessary. It might get too fuzzy then. Not sure that would be a good look for you." Quickly Zoe looked away. Did she really just say that? She could feel herself blushing. Not good. Slowly she looked back up and saw that he was watching her.
Sounded like they both had something in common. They both loved the outdoors. "I can't say that I blame you there. This ground isn't the most comfortablest place to lay. A bed is much better." This was said with a small smile. But truth be told she did enjoy being outside. Even sleeping under the stars. Zoe watched as he rolled to face her. He was right about that. She did know someone now. "Well, I guess you could say I know someone now." Zoe rolled so that she was mimicking his position facing him. "But there is only one problem with that, I don't even know your name."

He enjoyed listening to her laugh and was pretty much content at the moment. He always had liked making girls happy, it was pretty much his calling in life. She mentioned the style of his hair wouldn't look goo if he didn't brush it, bringing a smirk to his face of course. "So you think my hair looks good then?" He asked with a toothy smile. She was fun to mess around with, he laughed as he saw her blood rise to her face, girls were so cute that way.
"It's not that I don't mind it, when I'm back home my whole family sleeps on the ground because we are mostly in our wolf forms, but I would much rather have a bed." Jacob wasn't meant for that kinda life, he never liked it, he would rather be in an apartment surrounded by girls. Ah the dream. He let his smirk resurface and took his free hand and grabbed hers and kissed the top of her hand. "My name is Jacob Ma'iingan. At your service. May I ask what your is?" He asked staring into her eyes.

"Yea, I do like your hair." Zoe said with a small smile looking back into his eyes. There was something about them that kept drawing her attention back to them.
Listening to him talk about his family was interesting. His sounded so much more interesting than hers. The only person she knew in her family was her mother. All they knew about her father's family was that they didn't agree with his choice of brides nor family. Zoe never really knew him, as he left while she was still young. So Zoe only knew life with her mother.
Blood rushed to Zoe's face as he introduced himself as Jacob. Thats a nice name. There was no way that she would be able to remember his last name, but Jacob, that would be easy. After a few moments she was finally able to speak. Letting her hand stay in his. "Hi, I'm Zoe-Lynn Kavanagh, but please just call me Zoe. Nice to meet you as well."

He smirked at her comment of his hair. "Ah, well, I aim to please." He watched her reaction as he talked and noticed she seemed to be thinking of other things. He smiled again as he noticed the blush on her face hen he kissed her hand. "Hmm....Zoe...everyone calls you that though. It's pretty, don't get me wrong, but I hate being like everyone else, I was born different, and I want to stay that way." He scratched his head, letting her hand go so it wouldn't feeling like he was taking her prisoner or something.
"So what were you thinking about before? I noticed the wheels turning in there." He said putting his pointer finger on her forehead and smiling. "You can talk to me ya know...I'm just a wolf." He smirked at her. "Who am I gonna tell?" He rolled back over on his back and put his hands behind his head again.

Pulling all of her attention back to Jacob. Zoe didn't need to be thinking about things that were not around here or affecting daily activity. She had someone in front of her that was actually here. That would be who she would pay attention to. Daydreams could fill her alone time.
Zoe couldn't help but smile when Jacob said that he aimed to please. "You know for some reason, I can believe that." The comment came out along with a small laugh. She did believe that he truly did aim to please. Or at least he thought he did. Boy this guy was a flirt. Not that she really knew what it was to be flirted with, but she could always guess.
So he didn't want to be like everyone else. "So. You like being different. Ok. I give you permission to come up with a nickname. That is if you like." Taking a moment to realize what she had said. "Only if it's not too corny. Then you won't be like everyone else."
"What was I thinking about before? Well that is a very loaded question." Zoe told him with a smile. She felt his finger on her forehead. It was an odd gesture, but not a bad one. What all could she tell him. She watched as Jacob got more comfortable on the ground. Zoe took this as a sign that she could also do it. "Well." She started as she laid down looking back up at the sky. "Just about a lot of things. I listened to how you talked about your family and it made me a little lonely. All I have is my mother and she isn't anywhere close by. Then my mind went to the entire fact that I walked up to a wolf and tried to befriend it. Then to have the nice wolfy turn out to actually be a person." Turning her head so that it was facing his. "I think that's it in a nut shell. How about yourself?"

He thought for a moment. "Alright nothing corny eh? Hmm..." He laid there and watched the trees blow in the wind and the leaves trickled slowly down. "What about....what about Lynn? Who else would call you that?" He asked with a huge smile as he turned to look at her. Hopefully she didn't completely hate it.
"Yea...your right. You are a nut." He laughed. "But you should get to know more people, that way you won't be lonely. All of my family is no where near me. But then again....you could always become a hermit, I don't mind taking care of you and getting some loving in return." He gave her a wink and smirk. He was actually expecting a slap from that one. He was too much sometimes, but oh the fun he had doing it. She seemed pretty laid back before, so hopefully this didn't cross any lines.

Zoe waited to hear what Jacob would have to say in response to her comment. It wasn't that she was trying to hide anything. She just didn't want to weigh anyone down with her issues or whatever might be going on in her life. Not that she had a lot of problems. Most of her problems were old ones. Even though they did like to resurface time to time. She only hoped that they would wait a little while to resurface here.
Watching him ponder a name was actually funny. What would he call her? Something off the wall seemed like Jacob's style. The name that he suggested actually really took her by complete and total surprise. "Lynn." She repeated. "No one calls me that. Only my mother when I have done something wrong. But then it's usually Zoe-Lynn. So just being called Lynn might actually be really cool." Letting a smile fill her face. "I like it."
"A nut. You think I'm a nut." Zoe couldn't help but laugh at Jacob's comment. But then again he had been partly correct about it. There were times that she felt like a huge nut. "I love being alone. But hope to meet some others soon. I am in no real rush." She looked away briefly but his next comment brought her attention and face back to him. "So you wouldn't mind me becoming a hermit." A big laugh came from that. "I can only imagine how much loving you would be interested in getting from a little hermit." Glancing back at Jacob with a smirk on her face.
