Life long dream?: Position of Authority
Overall: Daniel Jones is a very intelligent human being. It’s not like he worked for it, spending hours researching and improving his IQ, he is just naturally gifted. It has unfortunately made him very arrogant. He values intelligence more than anything and tends to look down on people who don't meet his standards. Daniel is incredibly disrespectful to authority, unless they have proven themselves in his eyes. If they showed no effort to getting that position or Daniel thinks he can do a better job, Daniel no longer respects them.
Daniel is completely unsure about what defines ethics anymore and is growing an interest in the dark arts. He doesn’t believe in blood purity, but doesn’t care much for muggles. He thinks they hold him back from becoming a truly powerful wizard. His biggest vice is gambling. He usually walks in with a sheet with probability figures but abandons that easily before he makes his first bet.
~ History~
Family
Blood Status: Muggle Born
Parents: Susan Jones, Henry Jones (deceased)
Siblings: None
Other: Aunt Lillian and Uncle Peter Jones, Uncle Aaron Walker
History: When Susan Walker married Henry Jones, she was two months pregnant with their son. In an effort to keep both family names clean from the stain of a misbegotten child, they were forced into a marriage neither of them wanted. Henry was a code breaker, so the family moved around a lot. Daniel Jones was born in a bathtub in Mexico, seeing as there were no magic hospitals in the area. The family then moved to Ireland for a long time, where Henry grudgingly accepted a desk job. On Daniel’s sixth birthday, he showed signs of magic for the first time. He had lit the house on fire.
During the years, his parents treated him as an adult for too much time that he began to separate himself from the family. He dove into books like there was no tomorrow. He became a recluse into literature and his parents stopped caring. When Daniel was nine years old, his father was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s. This scared Daniel as his father grew more bitter and recognized him less and less. After Daniel left for Providence his first year, his father mysteriously died. Daniel believes that his mother killed him with the Avada Kedarvra curse to ease his passing. Daniel’s Uncle Aaron moved in immediately after.

RP Sample: Daniel bit his fingernails.
It was a disgusting habit, and Daniel had tried many times to stop to no avail. But it wasn’t his fault. He was nervous and that was what he always did when he was nervous. He was in the common room, feet on an overstuffed armchair as if he was ready to pounce. A first year stood in front of him, swallowing hard. He held his wand in front of him, and it pointed directly at a toad in his hand. The toad croaked serenely, oblivious to the fact the first year was about to try to turn it into a tea pot.
The first year lifted his wand and Daniel found himself holding his breath. The first year spoke his spell so overdramatically Daniel couldn’t help but laugh when after the flash of light, the toad was missing a leg. The first year shrieked and nearly ran out of the common room saying something about a COMC professor. Daniel laughed again and took the four silver sickles the boy had bet him from the nightstand. Ah, how he loved first-years.
(Bleh, a little uninspired.)
