As Whisper headed back to her dorm room, her head was filled with down cast thoughts. Her mind drifted to her brother, was he ok? Was Father coming down on him to hard? How would he handle it if I was not there to help him, if I was not there for him to talk to? Whisper felt her wild streak building up as she was stopping back to her dorm. She wanted to do something outrageous, but she couldn't. She had to get through this god forsaken place, without getting into to much trouble. Her brother would be coming her next year and she wanted him to have a clean slate, and not have her horrible record hanging over his head.
Just as she was opening the main door to the dorms she spotted Zoe. She felt her spirits lift a little and gave her a weak half hearted smile. "Hi" she breathed, "how was you dinner"? Whisper had barely eaten anything, she had no appetite. "Would you like to come to my dorm and hang out for a while, I have music, movies, and lots of chocolate!"

Walking back to the dorms, Zoe seemed to be in another place all together. Her mind drifting to many different things at once. So much had happened in such a short time. Briefly she had met a few other students. She had to admit it was nice to finally know a few people. But of course her mind wandered to her mother. What was she doing right about now? Was she alone at home. Zoe hated thinking that her mother didn't get out much. She really needed to get out and interact with others her age. But this was something Zoe had no control over, so she let it go.
Not really paying much attention to where she was walking she didn't see that someone else was close by. It wasn't until the person spoke did Zoe realized that someone was close by. She looked up and saw Whisper. Suddenly she was in a much better mood. "Hey there. Dinner was ok and yours." Dinner had been pretty good. She really didn't have much to complain there. Zoe thought for a few second on the invitation to go hang out with Whisper. "You bet. Sounds like a winner to me." She said with a smile.

"Sorry for the mess" she said with embarrassment, she had not unpacked everything, and the clothes she had worn were shewn all over the floor. She gave Zoe a brief smile of hesitation, hurriedly scampered to pick up the clothes and empty soda cans. After she flew around the room, which most likely looked hilarious to Zoe, she slapped her hands to her hips, and slid them in her pockets saying "have a set, any where you like."
Nervously Whisper walked over to her min fridge and plucked out a soda, "would you like anything to drink, I have regular soda, lemon-lime, and root beer?" She waited for her response and brought her what she had requested. Whisper sat on the edge of her bed and sipped her soda, thinking of what they could do, or talk about next, then Whisper had a great Idea. "Do you want to play MASH, I know its a bit childish, but it is a great way to get to know each other." she paused and waited for Zoe to say no, Whisper felt stupid already, and did not want to look even more so, and stated "we do not have to, I was just trying to think of a way that we can get to know each other better". She looked away and sipped her soda, making slurping sounds to trade in the silence.

Zoe smiled as she followed Whisper to her room. This would be the first time that she would be in another dorm. Or going to visit anyone for that matter. It seemed a little weird to Zoe she finally had a someone to hang out with. But this was a really good start. Taking a step into the room behind Whisper, Zoe looked around. It looked like someone had just moved in. But that was ok too. There were days when Zoe's room looked worse than this.
Watching Whisper quickly try and clean up, Zoe felt the need to say something. "Hey you don't have to do that. It's ok. Just give me a place to sit and I'm good." Hoping that would help Whisper to relax a little. It was really understandable that she hadn't unpacked. If Zoe hadn't been looking for something that she didn't know she had left at home, her stuff would look the same way. Since she had searched and laid everything out she went ahead and put them all away. Making her way toward an empty chair, Zoe sat down, pulling up her right leg so she could sit on it. Something she was always doing. Standing would be intresting after sitting like this, it always was.
"A root beer, please." Zoe said in response of being asked what drink she wanted. She loved a root beer. The only thing that could make it better was ice cream. That brought a small smile to Zoe's face. Taking her drink from Whisper and sipping a small amount. She watched as Whisper went to take a seat herself. Then she suggested something Zoe had never heard of. MASH. She had no idea what that was. "What is MASH? I don't think I've heard of it. But we can play it, if you want. I'm pretty much up for anything." Zoe said with a shrug, hoping that it didn't come out sounding as stupid as she felt it had.

"What?"
Whispers mouth dropped open at the fact of Zoe saying she had never heard of MASH. It was a game her cousin Elaina had taught her when she was a little girl. "OK", she smiled at Zoe, "its pretty simple, all you do is get a piece of paper, and a pen, like so" Whisper flipped a piece of purple paper in the air, as well as a pen. "Once you have the paper and pen, you write M . A . S . H at the top of the paper like so, M stands for Mansion, A stands for Apartment, S stands for Shack, and H stands for House, when we fill out the whole page this will tell you what you will live in" Whisper smiled and looked at Zoe who looked a little confused, "It is like a fortune telling game, it will tell you who you are in love with, what your future job will be, what you salary will be, and how many kids you will have."
"OK" Whisper had numbered the page appropriately, and looked at Zoe. "All I need now is three names of guys you like, famous or not, three jobs you are interested in, three numbers over 10, three numbers under 10 and three girls names as well as three girls names. When I mark those on this paper I will calculate you future." Whisper said that last part with creepy fingers in the air, and with a spooky Dracula like voice, for effect. She laughed and it seemed like Zoe was about to laugh as well.
"Let me know when you are ready for the telling to begin, but first we need something, CHOCOLATE!" With that said she ran to her desk drawer and pulled out 10 different chocolate candy bars in a big bag, "take your pick", she stated and threw the bag of chocolate at Zoe.

Zoe sat sipping her root beer. Sitting waiting for Whisper to explain MASH. Growing up away from other kinds had its down falls. This was going to be one of those times. She didn't know many of the same games that kids played. Since her mom was single parent, Zoe spent most of her time either outside or drawing. That much didn't really seem to change even over the years.
MASH sounded like a very interesting game. Almost something fun. Maybe it would actually be something fun to play. "Wow, it takes a lot of information. But it sounds actually a little fun. Oh heck, let's see what comes out of it." This came with a small laugh. What could it harm?
Thinking, Zoe sat looking at the blank sheet of paper. She was a little confused. But that was ok, it was normal. She stayed confused. It was a state she lived in a lot of the time. But it's ok. "Let see." She said while she was thinking. It was a long list to have to fill. While she was thinking on the list, Whisper stood and grabbed a bag of chocolate from a drawer. "Yum, chocolate. I love chocolate." She said with a smile picking up a Three Musketeers. "I love these things." Zoe babbled as she started nibbling on her bar.
'Now back to the game. Let me think." Zoe professed. "Three guys names, hum, Edward, Mike and Jacob." Looking down at the bed when she said the last name. She honestly couldn't believe that, that was a name that she wouldn't have chosen. She wondered why it came up now. "Jobs. Well An artist, obviously. A healer or teacher. I think those would be my choices. Numbers? What about 1,3 5 and 13,25, 50." Shrugging her shoulders a little. "I don't know why, they are the first numbers to come to me. But I'm not sure about the girl name. Can you help out a little." Zoe felt that she had done all the choosing and left Whisper out. Not wanting to do this, she wanted Whisper to feel included.

(I actually did this on paper, so it would come out correct. lol)
Glad that Zoe did not laugh at her, she she explained the rules of the game, or that she did not call her childish was a relief. It had been a long, long time since she had, been able to let her hair down with someone, a friend, as she was now seeing Zoe as, and hoped she felt the same.
As she listed of everything she need Zoe seemed to be taken aback by the information over load. "sorry I know its a lot but it is worth it". As she got to the last subject to be filled, Zoe asked for a little help. "hummm, lets see, I like the names Dawn, April, and Kimberly, what do you think?
While waiting for her reply Whisper opened a Milky Way bar and tore into it, she loved caramel and chocolate combined together. "Who ever, invented this candy bar should be made a god, I love it", she managed to get out with a huge mouthful of candy bar. "Sorry that was really rude of me," she laughed, "but I just cant stop once I have started with these things, I had better put them away, do you want another before I put them out of sight, and out of mind?"

[[lol, that sounds like something I would have done.]]
Zoe watched as Whisper wrote down all the information. It was really good to have someone that she could let loose with. Zoe did enjoy having a good time and was worried that she wouldn't have anyone here to have a good time with. Looking across at Whisper, Zoe knew that now she would have someone. Even though they had only just starting handing out. Zoe could see a wonderful friendship beginning. Or at least she hoped that she was.
Smiling down at the list Whisper was writing. "I am very eager to see how this turns out. You have my attention." This thought came out with a small giggle. It was the truth. Even though it might be somewhat childish game, it was new to Zoe and therefore she was intrigued by it. "Yes, I like Dawn, April and Kimberly. I think they will work very will."
Nibbling on her Three Musketeer bar, Zoe watched as Whisper opened a Milky Way bar. She couldn't help but laugh a little as Whisper said that she loved these candy bars. "Oh I know what you mean. I think I could honestly eat my weight in these things." Reaching back into the bag quickly before Whisper had a chance to put the bag away. "Yea. Let me grab another one. I might need another soon." This came with another smile and giggle.

When Zoe grabbed another candy bar, Whisper hesitated and grabbed a snickers, then hid the bag away. She looked at Zoe who was still laughing and giggled as well, "I could not resist". She smiled and went over to Zoe. She leaded down and gave her a quick hug, hoping she would not think her a nut job or something. This was very out of character for Whisper but, she really needed a friend right now, and Zoe had stepped up to the plate, Whisper was grateful, to have a friend. As she stood back up, Whisper explained the hug stating, "I dont have many friends, and I umm, just wanted to thank you", shoving her hands into her pockets, making only minimal eye contact with Zoe.
"Anyway, lets get back to the game", Picking up the piece of paper, Whisper went on to read Zoe's future.
"Lets see you will live in a regular house, Married to...wait for it...Jacob," She watch Zoe.s reaction to this name and was surprised to see her blush again. Continuing on "you will become a healer, and make 50k a year, you two will have 5 children, and your first born will be named April, and you will not get divorced." Whisper laughed at her own stupid game, and asked "do you want to do mine now, or shall we talk about this guy Jacob, you blush every time his name is said, I want to know everything." Whisper was excited, and hoped Zoe would not be too shy to dish some details. She laid down on her bed with her legs in the air and hands popping her head up, and her ears ready to soak up all the information Zoe was willing to offer.

Setting the other bar down in her lap, Zoe watched as Whisper grabbed another one. She couldn't help but smile at this. "Oh, don't worry." While they we both giggling over this Whisper did something that Zoe never expected. She walked over and gave her a hug. At first Zoe didn't know what to do. But relaxing a little she hugged Whisper back. Not wanting to sound rude she didn't ask what that was about. If she wanted Zoe to know she would tell her. Just then she told Zoe that she didn't have that many friends. Slowly Zoe raised her hand till she rested it on Whisper's shoulder. "Don't worry. I know what you mean. Even before coming here I didn't have many friends. And even here I don't have many. I'm glad that we met. Feel free to hug me anytime." She said with a smile.
Whisper brought Zoe's attention back to the game. She listened to her results. Marrying Jacob. Something told her that that one wouldn't be happening any time soon. "Sounds nice. Not sure about the entire Jacob thing." She started but quickly looked down at the floor, knowing that her face was flushed. "I'm not sure about the game." Taking a moment to think if she should tell Whisper about this guy or not.
Finally she took a deep breath and decided to go for it. What were friends for, right. "Well you see." She started, trying to find the right words. "The other day I was walking down by the hidden waterfall. While down there I met this guy. He was really flirtatious and everything. I just can't seem to get him out of my head at times." Zoe didn't know if she should tell Whisper that he was a shapeshifter or not.
