She was cleaning the room, it didn’t make sense however, the maids would come in and do it. She figured it was more like she was working off the nervous energy. After she was satisfied with the results Eudoxia got dressed, selecting the purple jacket, she figured it made her look the most adult, after all she was meeting her brother’s teacher for some sort of parent teacher conference. Shaking her head she smiled, Petros wouldn’t be a Karras if she wasn’t called into the office a few times on his behalf. Adjusting the jacket she slipped on her shoes and was out the door. The hotel seemed to get nicer as the days went by, either that or she was starting to really like the place. Which was frightening, it was a casino and in comparison to some of the places she had stayed it couldn’t stand up. With a light sigh she clicked through the lobby and was heading towards the Academy. She had a few hours to kill but sitting around the hotel room was killing her. Atlas was gone for a few days so he wasn;t around to occupy her time and she wasn’t in the mood to talk to Petros before having to go explain to his teacher why he kicked and fought him all the time. The shops would provide the proper distraction. The flower shop caught her eye. There were birds of paradise and she couldn’t resist. The exotic flowers had always been her favorite and after purchasing a bouquet she made her way back down the street. Window-shopping had always been one of her favorite past times. Paris had always been the best for window-shopping. Heading down the street she spotted something odd about the wand shop there seemed to be a bike sitting in the window. She couldn’t resist, there was just something so sexy about a motorcycle and she entered the shop, the bell tinkled and she didn’t see anyone behind the counter. Making a beeline for the bike she smirked. It reminded her of someone, and she ran a finger across the metal handlebars and walked around it, keeping one finger running across the various textures. It was interesting the bike in a wand shop with a small smile she called out, “Hello?” whoever owned this store had peeked her interest.

Days tended to bleed together for the tall man that was hunched over one of his newest motorcycles. The wand business had been slow for Cecil and so he had more free time to enjoy his true love. His father had been big into motorcycles and that love had been passed down to him. He could see the passersby out the window of his quaint little shop in the coldest city he had ever been in. It was so far from home that he was surprised to have even survived. The fire that was raging the fireplace kept the shop a cozy temperature.
Sweat was starting to form on his brow as he fussed over the master cylinder for his new Harley Davidson. The bike had been shipped to him, it was supposed to be in one whole piece but instead some moron had not bothered to watch the cargo and pieces were stolen. It had taken several trips to various cites across the country for him to gather the true authentic parts to finish his new bike. This would be a gift, there was someone special out there that would walk away with this bike.
His thoughts were so focused on his current task that he almost did not hear the bell on the door chime. Looking up from his spot, Cecil spotted a rather attractive woman that had entered. Setting down his tools he grabbed the rag near him and wiped his dirty hands. Standing up properly he smirked slightly as he spoke. Welcome to my wand and motorcycle shop. If you see anything you like let me know. Cecil had never been one for small talk, he preferred to be in the shadows, to stalk and lurk. [/size]

The man who rose to his full height Eudoxia smiled. His appearance though a bit disheveled was still a welcomed site. The grease stains and motorcycle suited him and made a little more sense but the combination still seemed odd. “Does that include you?” She smirked at his comment. “I already have a wand,” Motioning her head towards the bike she smiled. “It was this piece of craftsmanship that grabbed my attention. Well that and the fact I’m doing my best to avoid a parent-teacher conference.” Shaking her head she shrugged and set the flowers down. Inspecting the bike she ran her finger over the chrome of the exhaust and shrugged. “There is something about motorcycles, they are dangerous, fast, flashy and sexy. Yes?” Letting out a throaty chuckle she stepped so she was standing just in front of him and “It is and interesting combination, motorcycles and wands. One so docile the other so what is the word I am looking for…” Trailing off she reached for the word “Exciting?” She asked tilting her head to the side for a moment.
“You uh have some grease..” She motioned towards his face but finding that it would be easier to just get the stain from his face she hesitantly moved before cupping his cheek and gently using her thumb to rid his face of the stain. “There, sorry.” She looked at her hand before letting it drop to her side once more. “So is this your handy work?” She indicated the motorcycle since he had obviously interrupted his work, but it seemed polite to ask who knows he could simply be tinkering with something without a clue as to what he was doing. However judging by the extensive collection of tools he was the sort of man who took things seriously. “I was never allowed to ride motorcycles. I’m certain daddy dearest would still have a conniption if he were to catch me climbing onto the back of one. Perhaps that’s part of why I find them so alluring.” Stepping out of his personal space she patted the seat. “It must be fun. Or why else would it still remain popular?” Shrugging she idly traced geometric patterns into the leather seat.

Cecil was only slightly surprised by the forwardness of the woman standing in his shop. It was obvious to him that someone like her was not drawn in because of the wand shop sign on the door. She seemed exotic and a bit on the wild side but that was how he liked them. He would bet she was a bit feisty as well, all the better for him. Cecil kept his gaze cool and collected as he listened to her speak merely smirking at some of the things she said. I find machines fascinating. The speed at which such a magnificent piece of machinery can move still amazes me. That one there.. he motioned to the bike in the window, That one took me six months of grueling labor to build and it was from scratch.
Cecil was not the type of person to brag or boast about his accomplishments but to get such a fine piece as that he could not help it. When the woman approached him he was hesitant as she reached up and wiped some grime off of his face. Smiling in gratitude he watched her as she moved to his bikes. A man has to have his hobbies. Mine happens to be building motorcycles from scratch and well this one here is the only one so far that doesn't have a home. He motioned to the one on his right that was almost done. Wanting the opinion of the woman he smiled as he spoke again. Perhaps we can go for a ride on one and you can let me know if you like them. I might even be willing to part with one for you at a reasonable price.

“Your hard work has paid off, it’s beautiful.” Walking around one of the bikes she nodded inspecting the craftsmanship. One of her clients had been a car and motorcycle man; while she didn’t know anything about them really she did know enough to recognize what was considered good work. “One of my clients liked to brag about his machines. These are much nicer than his.” Her back was too him and she smiled as mentioned his hobbies. “Yes, a man must have his hobbies. Whose knows what trouble they would cause otherwise.” Eudoxia knew first had the trouble men would cause without hobbies, and some who caused trouble with their hobbies. It was amazing what her services revealed about the men she worked for, the repressed businessman looking for a bit of black market help or when dealing with a man’s every purchase and balancing his books.
Turning to face him she looked at the one he had motioned to and clicked towards it. “A ride?” Pretending to mull this over she placed a hand on her hip casually rubbing the jagged scar that peeked out just above her jeans. “A reasonable price? I warn you I am quite the haggler.” She gave a throaty chuckle as she finished, he had no idea what he would be getting himself into, she was not above grabbing him by the family jewels and squeezing till she got her way. Looking him over she figured the tactic would work; he didn’t look the type of man who would actually enjoy it. “Okay.” She nodded looking at him. “I will let you take me out on one. I don’t know how to drive one so we shall see if I am so moved to enter a business deal with you.” Once more invading his personal space she held out her hand, figuring if she was about to climb onto the back of his bike they should know at least know one another’s names. After all business may be involved. “Eudoxia.” Offering her name she raised and eyebrow awaiting his.

It was taking a lot of work for Cecil to not smirk at the woman before him. She exuded confidence and a hidden lethality that he could easily see. He loved to make his bikes but he loved it more when others got the pleasure of owning them. She spoke of clients and for a brief moment he wondered just what kind of work she did. Obviously whatever it was it led her to an appreciation of fine works of mechanical art. There are always different kinds of hobbies. Mine just happens to be bikes, though I think I got that from my father.
She seemed to contemplate his offer of a ride and this time he actually smirked at her. She had no idea what he was capable of, or what kind of offer he would make her. Truth be told if she ended up enjoying the bike he would part with it without anything needing to be exchanged. It simply took up space in his shop and he rather liked watching others enjoy his work. When she reached out her hand he took hers and responded to her name. Cecil. Very nice to meet you Eudoxia. Well come on I have my bike out back, the one I actually enjoy riding. It is the one I love when I feel the need for speed. Walking away he hoped she would follow as he took off toward his MV Agusta F4 CC

Bowing her head she shook his head. “Cecil.” She repeated softly before watching him head towards the back she placed her bag down beside the flowers, she figured such things would be best left in the shop. While his back was turned she removed the knife from the small of her back. The small amount of protection she had left the hotel with was gone, slipping it into her bag she sighed. But she felt like she would be safe enough left to her own devices. Following him out to the back of the shop she used this time to inspect the craftsmanship of his parents and smiled. Not bad. Tilting her head as he rounded a corned she inwardly laughed at herself. This was an interesting part of her she had yet to explore, of course she looked at men but never so blatantly. Her attention soon fell upon the bike and she let out a little noise of appreciation.
“Sergei’s bikes were not quite so sexy. They were more for show? Antiques?” She shook her hand dismissively “Not that it matters. The man just likes to spend his money.” This reminded her she had to owl him. Pulling her hair back into a low ponytail knowing a helmet would soon follow she walked over and grinned. “Fast? I like fast. Moving in she lowered her voice, how fast does it go?” With a smile she pressed into him slightly as she finished her sentence and then as if she hadn’t even moved resumed a small amount of distance. “Shall we get going then?”

Usually Cecil was not this forward with people or his bikes but Eudoxia seemed like the kind of girl that would enjoy a simple ride on a bike. He smiled as he heard her gasp. He had a small collection of bikes that he didn't ride, the ones he used for shows. I have a few antiques as well. Ones that are just used for show but I much prefer to ride them. He smirked as he ran his fingers across his favorite. The shiny metal was cold under his hands and he could almost hear the metal speaking to him.
Grabbing one of the nearest helmets, he tossed it to her as he answered the question she asked. It tops out at around 195. Though in the snow around here that could be fatal. Why don't we start out slow say maybe 90? Cecil would not purposely endanger anyone especially if it meant risking damage to his bike. Tossing on his helmet he hopped on the back of the bike and started the engine listening to the purr of the motor.

Catching the helmet she watched him as he stroked his bike. It was obvious this was his passion, and it was more than just a status thing for him, he actually enjoyed these bikes on a deeper level. It was always interesting to watch a man with what he cares the most about. Well watching a person with what they hold dear, like her father with money. It made her crazy the way he would flaunt it in front of the younger women, they were always attracted to his money. Young bimbo was his type and she truly hated putting up with them when he would come to visit with them. At least right now there was no bimbo here in Providence. This trip was showing a new side to Atlas and she wasn’t sure how to process it so she decided it would be best not to worry about it.
With a slight pout she pulled the helmet on and buckled it below her chin. “Fatal?” Settling in behind him she placed her hands on his waist. Slightly impressed at the tone she could feel through his clothing she smiled and leaned in to whisper. “Fatal sounds like fun, but if you are scared or worried about damaging your bike I suppose I can’t sway you otherwise. You are in control.” Finding this the perfect time to press against him, she wasn’t sure about the kick back and felt it was better safe than sorry. Mimicking the purr of the engine she spoke once more. “What are you waiting for daredevil?”

Cecil was all but prepared for his soon to be outing. His helmet was fastened around his head, a beautiful woman was on the back of the bike what else could he ask for? The soft purr of the engine of his prized bike was music to his ears as he waited just a little bit longer before taking off. Cecil was cautious, knowing that if anything were to happen he would be the one held liable. Smirking at her use of the nickname bestowed upon him by his best friend Aine, Cecil allowed the bike to roar to life.
As he eased the motorbike out of its the wayward confines of his shop and onto the open road, Cecil allowed his mind to clear. He had always had a need for speed finding it to be a sedative to his stress. Slowly the speedometer started to climb higher and higher, reaching its goal, the maximum speed it could reach. If he had been anywhere but Providence he would have forgone the helmet, allowed the wind to whip through his hair. It was harder to do that here, with the cold and bitter wind that raged.
He wondered briefly if the woman behind him would try anything stupid. He was rather partial to not getting thrown from his bike or ending up wrecking out. It had taken him too long to restore the hunk of metal to its current beauty. As his bike reached maximum throttle, Cecil pushed all thoughts out of his head instead focused on the road and taking a scenic path through Providence. It was only a matter of time before one of the officers decided to pull him over for speeding but when he was in a situation like this Cecil could care less. Is this fast enough for you? The arrogant side of his was slowly starting to shine through his rough and tumble exterior.

The obvious caution he was using made her smile. That was new, if anything her presence tended to lend to more risky behavior. Of course there were the precautions she took, the back up concealed on various locations and of course she would bring the necessary back by way of her cronies. It did feel weird not having them, or a male member of the Karras family escorting her around. It was nice, the alone time. This also made her laugh, she was no longer alone. It was the downfall of being a social creature, superficially social as she may be she still found herself making a ‘friend’ wherever she went, and she never knew when those said friends would come in handy. It was possible that later on Eudoxia may need a wand maker who built bikes on the side. The more eccentric the combination the more likely he would come in handy.
The wind started to pick up as it whipped around them and she tightened her grip around him pressing in closer, getting friendlier with her newfound friend. Finding it colder than the wind she was use to she sighed. It would have been nice to take this ride in Spain, or even in Israel with Lot. If he made it out of lock up she would be taking him back to Haifa, she found her dreams had drifted there, to two weeks every summer they would spend there. Of course they ended up as nightmares, but for those brief moments she was standing in the shadow of the Sail Tower while Lot did his best to get her the item she wanted, using her rules, and the typical Lot fashion. The less bodies the better.
His voice was soft under the noise of the wind and engine but the question caused her to chuckle softly in his ear. “If you have to ask…” Ending the phrase with another chuckle she smiled again. “Come on cowboy, show me what you can do.” Doing her best to mimic a slight mid-western accent, it was of course muddled with her Spanish accent. “Giddy-up!” Another soft laugh and she nudged closer, the temptation of speed dangled in front of her, and she held back a growl.

For once Cecil was truly enjoying the company he had with him. It was not everyday that he got the opportunity to show off his bike, nor let anyone ride it. Women rarely payed him much thought, his grungy look always seemed to be a bit of a turn off. It was hard to work so hard on making wands and fixing up bikes that he rarely took the time to ponder what others thought about him. Really he could care less but as Aine had pointed out to him of various occasions he needed to start paying attention.
Closing his eyes, he pushed the bike to its limits knowing that the magic around the city would make it harder for them to leave. There were miles of road that stretched out flat before rolling with the hills and mountainous terrain. His wand was tucked within easy reach should he actually need to use it. Smiling up at the air, he thought about his good fortune, it was clear this woman was not someone he would be able to attain. She had a certain air about her that he was not sure he wanted to know better but he if she could turn into a friend or even client he would be more than happy.
Keeping his eyes on the road he let the sound of the air rushing past his ears sooth him. He loved driving fast, faster than anyone could, the thrill of it was intoxicating, pushing adrenaline through his veins. He had been termed a modern day rebel, a man who did things simply for the pleasure of them rather than the consequences that he may face. When other wizards chose to fly high and fast up in the air on their brooms he preferred to take the roads. It was easier to blend in when he went into the cities for his parts. After all flying into a place like New York or Chicago on a broom was sure to turn heads but having a Harley underneath you gave you a certain credibility.
The further they drove away from the city the more the thought about his upcoming travel plans. He was going to close the shop for a few weeks, take an extended road trip out of Providence and across the Continental US. He had plans to stop off in New York, Orlando, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, St. Louis, and L.A and everywhere in between. Aine had been thrilled when she told him but she knew she could not accompany him. He would bring her back a souvenir from his journey. Hitting a small bump in the road brought Cecil's mind back on the task at hand. They had been driving for nearly an hour and it was time to head back in.
Making a sharp turn with the bike he raced back towards the town. Pardon me madam. We must be getting back. It's been almost an hour and I am sure you have things that you need to get done. He had to shout to be heard but it was worth it.

The air whipped past them and her smile widened as they speed up. Eudoxia was the sort of person who pushed for things like speed. She would have bothered him until he gave in, and she was not above fighting dirty to get her way. In fact that was usually how she got the things she wanted. It was almost too easy, then again she had lots of practice, and it was almost like most didn’t even try to challenge her anymore and if they did they couldn’t hold their own against her. Not that any of it mattered, she got what she wanted and they got what they wanted so everyone was happy, not to mention mostly satisfied. The man on the bike with her however, he was a different story, she didn’t want anything from him and she had a feeling there wasn’t much she herself could give him that would satisfy him aside from maybe a time turner where he could go about his work without having to worry about deadlines.
Her grip of Cecil loosened slightly and she paid attention to her surroundings, for probably the first time since she had come to Providence she was amazed at how beautiful it truly was. It was unlike most places she went whose beauty was more in the history of the place and the older architecture things that had been touched with human hands. This place was mostly untouched, there was the road and that was it. She pressed her lips together and laughed at the fact she found something untouched as beautiful as the Sistine Chapel. It certainly was funny how things worked out sometimes. Atlas had often preached about the natural beauty of things and how man was good at mucking things up. It always sort of felt like he had no idea what he was talking about since he usually took his children to the beach or a city for vacation, but now she saw the vacations for what they were, Atlas’s attempt to make up for his lack of parenting with money. It usually worked too, for a week everyone was relatively happy and pretending to be a family.
A slight bump in the road caused her to retighten her grip, she had gotten lost in her thoughts and the bump scared her back into the reality and she laughed at herself. Such a quick spook and she was not the type to get scared over something so pedestrian. Keeping her grip on him as he shouted over the engine she nodded, her chin hitting his shoulder lightly. They turned back towards the town and she sighed. She did have things to do but the end of the ride was something she didn’t want to happen quite so soon. The world around them slowed down and the town came into view the familiar shops silently welcomed them back. They had stopped back at the wand shop and with grace she hopped off the back of the bike taking off her helmet she cradled it between her hip and her arm.
“That was fun.” Doing the best to conceal her excitement she leaned against a wall. “You have all sorts of fun by yourself? Seems like a lonely life for a cowboy?” She set the helmet on a work bench. “But that is the life of the cowboy, he rides alone for the most part.” She turned to look at him “Does that make you happy? To ride alone? Or is it lonely?” There was a huge difference in alone and lonely and Eudoxia was not sure which one she was in the time being. Then again things had not been normal for past few months and that was certainly a factor.
